Overview

Bollywood is coming up with a new movie “Thugs of Hindostan”. This epic hindi film is an action adventure film. This film is written and directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya. Aditya Chopra is producing this film under his banner Yash Raj Films. This film is starring Amitabh Bachan sir, Aamir khan sir, Katrina kaif, Fatima Sana Sheikh and Lloyd Qwen . The story leads back in 1795, when a band of thugs led by Khudabaksh Azad. He aspires to free hindustan from the British established company in india , East India Company. John Clive (British Commander) sends Firangi Mallah to encounter the threat.



This film is produced on an expected budget of 300 crores. With such a big budget Thugs of Hindostan is going be the most expensive bollywood movie. Initially this film was titled as thug. This film is marked as the first time khan and Bachchan featuring movie, both as lead actor. His is second time collaboration between khan kaif and Acharya after Dhoom 3. A dance sequence was filmed in 0ctober 2017 for this movie which was choreographed by Prabhudeva. Some scenes are also filmed in Thailand and Mehrangarh. It created a hiatus on the set when Amitabh Bachchan experienced a slit discomfort on the set. Release date for this movie is scheduled for 8^th November, 2018.

In September 2016, Yash Raj Films announced its new upcoming project thugs of hindostan in front of media. As an announcement Aamir khan and Amitabh bachchan was told as lead star cast and lead actress was not finalized at that time. Hrithik roshan was initially approached for the movie. He suggested some changes in the script to which the fim producer aditya chopra approved. Meanwhile, Aamir khan was approached to do the script by Acharya, who agreed to that without any change.

By February, 2017 khan prepared his look for the film and also in the same month Shradha Kapoor gave a costume test for the movie. In March 2017, khan suggested Fatima Sana Sheikh for the movie. After the auditions she was finalized for the script replacing Shradha Kapoor. Katrina was also confirmed for the script by this time.



Later in May Khan, Bachchan and Acharya met to discuss the changes in the script. Khan denied that the Thugs of Hindostan is being inspired by pirates of the Carabian stating that both are action adventure in their own way.

This is the first time collaboration of khan and Bachchan. They were earlier approached together earlier for project named Rishta in 1990s, though his project was shelved due to some reasons. Initially Jackie Shroff, Alia Bhatt, Hrithik Roshan and Dipika Padukon were to be the part of the movie but later they were put down.

While making thugs of Hindustan Acharya wanted to give a suspenseful twice to the movie. Considering the difficulty in bringing the audience to the threatres, Acharya made this movie a visual spectacle.

Thugs of Hindostan is produced with a budget to Rs 300 billion, becoming the most expensive Bollywood movie. Initially the budget was estimated about Rs 900 million but this budget was overshot due to filming.

The shooting made them construct two ships in Malta. Shooting was also heavily guarded to prevent the leak of the footage on social media. The ships took a labor of 1000 people for its construction with each weighing 200000 kg alone.

Despite being the shooting was under high security so as to protect the footage but Aamir khan got upset when a film fare magazine photographer leaked his look. Amitabh Bachchan’s look which he made for the movie was also leaked online.

Some shooting scenes which were filmed in Malta, Chopra was not happy with the scenes, so he asked to reshoot the scenes in Yash Raj studios. Some scenes were also filmed in Thailand. Some sequences were also filmed in India in Mehrangarh Fort, Jodhpur.
